radio removal 700 1987

my 760 wagon has a radio/tapedeck combo (model TD8141) with an equalizer right below it. the rear right door speaker sounds very tinny and works at what seems half its capacity. after finding the speaker/connections intact, i now want to remove the radio to check wiring. elsewhere on this list there are specific instructions on how to remove the radio unit, but mine not show the "tabs" described, and i don't want to break any plastic trim, etc. any advice on how to remove (or what might be wrong with the speaker) would be much appreciated!
