About a month or so ago, I had posted a message about wanting to add a second brick to my family. Well, today folks, I did!!! A 1989 240 GL. It's a dark charcoal color, almost to the point of being black. The interior is beige leather with the factory head rest covers on both front and rear headrests. Even the seat heaters work. Actually, everything on the car works, including the clock. I never even knew you could get a 240 with a power sunroof.
The car has 166K miles on it, and while it is not perfect (the small rips on the driver's seat proves this), it is in verrrrry nice shape, both body and mechanically. It is a one-owner car. It has new seals, belts, hoses, tires, and rear brakes. It does need a new driver's side wiper blade, but that's not too big of a deal.
Now two questions---did I get screwed? I paid...get this--$1,200.00 for the car. I don't think the guy knew the value of the car, considering the shape it was in. As far as I'm concerned, if it lasts a year, I got my money's worth.
My next question---the gas cap door hinge is bent somewhat, preventing the closure of the door. Is there any way to fix this without having to get a new door?
Thanks so much guys and gals!!!!!
Steve
