Tuning Help 700 1990

Hey, I know everybody here is pretty smart, so here goes:

I've got a 1990 Volvo 740 Turbo w/intercooler with about 245000 Kms on the clock...

Now, I want to "soup it up", and I'm on a very limited budget, so what would y'all suggest out of these choices:

01 MVP Big Bore Throttle Body
02 MVP/Volvo VX3 Camshaft
03 MVP/Volvo VX3 Camshaft + Adjustable Cam Gear
04 MVP Torque convertor
05 MVP Gauge Pod (to safely manually adjust boost...)
06 IPD Sport Exhaust
07 IPD Chassis Braces f&R (Strut towerf, underbodyR)
08 IPD Sport lowering springs
09 ??? 850R Spoiler w/ black rubber lip

My dad says it's not good to install new internals on an older engine, is this true? Thanks so much!!!
