strange rumble just before first shift ;point in AT 745 700 1986

My wagon has just started to act strangley when I start and when I slow down, at about the same point in (just before the first shift starting and just before the final down shift when slowing) there is a a rumble or vibration going on that reminds me of a FWD when the CV joints are starting to go. Pretty sure this is not the problem my 745 being RWD. Any one out there experience something similiar?
