Got hit 'below the belt'

Squirt a bit of water on the matched pair. If a new belt is misaligned in the v groove it can set the pulley to ringing as it leaves. The water will temporarily lubricate and identify this condition that is normally solved by replacing the accessory mounting bushings on the alternator.
