Thinking about buying a 240 Wagon, 86 200 1986

Hello all,

I am thinking about buying a 240wagon. I already have a 88 740 GLE sedan with 300,000 miles, and a 92 240 sedan with 135,000 miles. I have found at a local used car lot, guy fairly honest, a 86 240 wagon, leather third seat, white 115,000 miles, great body, very little rust, Automatic nice paint and it will need some work here is what I noticed:

1. Needs new water pump, I've done a bunch no real problem $100 DYI with T- BELT
2. Needs new exaust, about $115 DYI
3. When You turn the key to on without starting it the speedo jumps up a little and stays at like 30MPH what is this? Never seen it on any of my cars
4. Power door locks don't work, what is the likely cause?
5. Yellow head lights, what is the fix, I've heard they can be cleaned out. I just resealed the right one on my 240 sedan, it wasn't yellow just leaking.
6. Hood pull in car missing, vice grips replaced it. Anyone had this problem?

Does this year have a bad wiring harness? Where should I look to really tell the condition of the harness. The radio is in the top position. I would like to put it on the bottom because I use a six disc changer and don't use the radio much, and have a full gauges set for the upper positions. How much work is this? Otherwise the car seems pretty nice, with no major flaws. He wants 1900 and I think I can get it for between 1200 and 1500, and I figure I'm willing to pay 1500 for a 240 wagon with a great body and nice leather intior and third seat what do you think?

Thanks

Peter
