Was Instrument cluster, Now temp Compensation board help!!!!! Please

Now that the gauge is out,
I can see a pc board with the gauge on it.

And a funny circuit that is about the size of a razor
blade with components in it and covered with plastic.

It has fingers and is SOLDERED to the pc board.

2 space 7 fingers

The gauge is held to the board nuts, and contains the face
and windings.

The pc contains one resistor

purple green black gold

and a power transistor

Japan

Q m 3D

and the glob

What now??

Resisters usually don't fail. Can't tell if they have caps in the glob.

Transistor can fail, So do I just resolder all the connections on back??
Nothing to lose.

Last clue, It would work for awhile at first, and on cold days and then die.
