1972 144/145 transmission support cross member 140-160 1972

I am installing an M41 gearbox into my 1972 145s and removing my M40 box.
The Laycock J type overdrive inspection plate bolt on the RHS conflicts
with the cross member for the gearbox mount.

Can anyone tell me if there is a different cross member used for M41
gearboxes than that used for M40 boxes?
I'm becoming very confused and frustrated with the level of information
available here in Australia.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Alan
