should I buy this 1974 144? 140-160

Hello,

I found a nice looking 1974 144. The guy said it has about 120000 original miles. It has been sitting on his driveway for the last 4 years here in Utah with cold winters. The guy said he stopped driving it because the clutch went out but before that it had no problems. The exterior is great. The interior is old but still together. I can have the car for $500. I would really love the car, I'm sure, but what can I expect to put into the car to replace the clutch in money and time/work? I would like to do it myself but I have never done a clutch job before. Also, what other problems should I be wary of? What could I check for to make sure this isn't a lemon. I would like to get the car driveable and in good running condition so that I can just do simple maintence on it and drive it another 200,000-300, 000 miles. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Aaron
