Engine washing - yes or no

I second the motion calling for Simple Green. I find it to be a great cleaner. I get mine by the gallon at AutoZone. I don't use the high pressure washes on the engine compartment anymore. I spray it all with Simple Green and then use a parts washer brush to scrub the really bad areas before hosing off with a garden hose. I reapply to the stubborn areas and scrub again before washing everything down with a sponge full of Dawn and water and then rinsing. Even with covering I found the high pressure washers drive the water where I don't want it.
