Starting problems 83 glt turbo 200 1983

83 turbo just started a couple of weeks ago after driving about 20 miles at a time and shut off and re-started would die, and would have to rev it up to keep it running, did that about 3 or 4 times. been starting okay when cold. I change the Valve cover gasket because of oil leak, and after re-assembly and making sure all hoses etc; were re-connected, Has good spark from plug wires, I do not hear anything when key is turned to on position from the fuel pump, car will not start, acts like it wants to, tries to fire at times, and also acts like it is flooded at times, so I push the gas peddle half way to floor as book states but still will not start, could the fuel pump relay and/or fuel pump be the problem, any suggestions would be helpful. thanks in advance. Tricky
