760GLE body leans to passenger side 700 1988

I recently bought my mom’s ’88 760 GLE, with 220k. It’s a great car, in pretty nice shape overall, and shows a nice bit of pep (at least more than my ’83 245DL).

The only thing that really concerns me is that the body appears to be leaning to the passenger side quite a bit. It’s this way both front and rear. My stepdad tells me that he thinks it’s been like that since they bought the car (in the early ‘90s). I’ve been around that car lots of times and never noticed—as I suspect most people don’t notice when they glance at (OK, admire:) the car. But as the owner, to me it now looks quite severe—it still kind of surprises me when I approach the car. You can really see it when you compare the wheel wells on the drivers side vs. the passenger side.

I don’t notice a poor ride, and the shocks work well (no excessive bouncing).

Could it be that the driver’s side is riding excessively high as opposed to the passenger side riding low? It seems a little high on the driver’s side but not radically. If pressed, I would hem and haw a bit and say the driver’s side looks “about right”, but I’m unsure. I mean, could the low-riding pass. side be pulling the drivers side up a bit?

Should I reverse the polarity on the flux capacitor? For all I know it could be the Heisenberg Compensator. And we all know how hard those are to find.

What are the things that I should look at for a cause? I couldn’t find anything in the FAQ about this, but I could have missed something.

Any pointers would be very much appreciated. I love this car and when I can get my wife out of it, it’s a joy to drive.

Thanks!
Milan
