Amazing performance boost B230FX - thankyou BrickBoard (again) 200 1993

I just wanted to share this experience in the hope that it will help others.

I bought a 1993 240 and was very dissapointed with it's performance. Had a lot of opinions from our regular mechanic and others including faulty ECU, Air Mass Meter, Tune and use premium fuel but the performance was always average and the head pinged and rattled all the time on standard unleaded and often on premium. Performance always ordinary.

I live in a very warm climate and I read on BrickBoard about a common problem with the Air Filter Thermostat jamming. That was it!!! It was jammed on hot which I think is the default setting when it breaks. What a difference it has made and I can now very much recommend the the B230FX motor - great highway cruiser. Not sure what else is different but the VX cam gives much better torque especially around 2500 - 3500 RPM and economy seems the same as the previous B230F I had.

Thanks BrickBoard - saved me again.

I have two 240's (81 & 93) and have owned others so I use BrickBoard a lot. For any people who also live in Queensland Australia I have found a good parts supplier who quoted $209 for a locally manufactured Air Mass Meter. If anyone would like their name please contact me.
