Interesting find when replacing Timing belt 700 1987

Well got the Turbo replaced yesterday. While it was in the 50K timing belt was due. Well, had I waited another 1000K miles I may have had a real problem.
The harmonic damper was found to have cracked in half and the bolts were the only thing keeping it together. Had it gone, the main drive pully would have become a nice missle. Just a warning make sure when working on your car, do a good inspection of all components around the area you are working on. Don't ignore little problems they generally if left alone become even bigger more expensive problems Especially on High mileage cars. The new part was 173.00
what would have it cost had it gone at speed.
