Is $2400 a reasonable price for a transmission rehaul 700 1989

I have a rwd 89 745. I decided to go for it... mainly cuz im a student and I dont really have the time to try some used tranny w/ miles on it and have it potentially go out later. I got a manufactured refurbished one which is about $1800 which is the price ive found everywhere. About $400 for labor... and ofcourse, the california sales tax which is 8%. So this hopefully guarentees me my car's tranny lasting for another 10 or so years...hopefully
