turn signals not working 700 1990

Rtilghman,

I know what you mean about those manuals. I bought the Chilton manual (part # 8428)and was so frustrated with having to guess what circuit schematic applied to my 760 that I went online and found a site that has been pretty helpful; Alldata.com. I bought a year subscription for my 760 ($19.95)and have been pleasantly surprised, especially with the schematics.

The main relay panel schematic doesn't show a flasher relay. The Directional Signals/Hazard schematic shows that the voltage for the direction indicator switch (turn signal switch) is supplied through the hazard switch. I bypassed the hazard switch and was able to get the turn signals to light, but wouldn't blink. Since there isn't any other relay/device between the hazard switch and the turn signal (or after for that matter)I believe that the hazard switch just may be the culprit.

I've ordered a genuine Volvo hazard switch through FCPGroton.com (approx $58 vice $100 through Volvo dealer). I should have it Monday. I'll let you know how I make out!

Thanks for your info too!!
