Why all the multiple posts, some half an hour apart?

Just been noticing that there seem to be a LOT more multiple posts
lately. The few times the board has been slow to return the next
page and I have hit "submit" again, I have immediately got a "duplicate post"
response and my submission was only posted once! Has the software quit
catching these? And why would duplicate posts be 15, 20 or 30 minutes
apart?
