I'm thinking of buying a 1994 760 24valve with a click in the engine. What do you think? 700 1994

I have the opportunity to buy a '94 760 wagon 24-valve for $2,000. The engine has a continuous loud clicking sound, which does not get louder as it it reved, only faster. I'm wondering what the problem could be. My first thought is that it is some kind of piston rod problem. How about the valves, could this be a valve or lifter problem?

I'm trying to determine if I should pass by this car or possibly take it on as a project.

Any thoughts?

Bob
