1984 240GL- Stalls at Half Tank 200 1984

Hello folks --

First time post looking for help. My 84 240GL consistently -- and I mean everytime -- begins to stall, looses power, and eventually dies -- when the gas guage shows 1/2 tank. When it starts to hesitate, I head for the gas pump. Its never occured with more than a half tank of gas.

I have checked the fuel pump fuse (its ggod), turned on the key and listened for the in-tank fuel pump (heard nothing).

s this a fuel pump problem?
