BW35 to M410 conversion 140-160 1972

I am on my way to dropping the BW35 in my 1972 164e and replacing it with an M410 from a 1974 164e.
1) Will the bell housing etc match up from the 74 to the 72?
2) Where was the OD switch located in the 1972?
I have taken out the switch etc, and of course it doesn't fit on the 72.
3) Are there any tricks that I should be aware of, in taking the M410 out and then putting it in the 1972?
4) Does anyone have the switch set up for the OD on a 1972? I'll trade 1974 parts for it????
5) I had driven the 1974 and everything seemed in good shape (other than the body). Should I get the M410 checked out while I have it between cars?

Thanks, this will probably be the first of many posts.
Kent
