Speedo 700 1990

My 740 Speedo/mileage/odo meter unit(ONLY) has stopped functioning after a period of intermittancy. I have cleaned/checked the connectors to cluster module and diff' housing. Will be most grateful if some kind soul who has identified a faulty component/wire/pcc in this part of the electrics would please enlighten me. I do not have a cct dia' but have the cluster module on the bench with test meter hopefully poised ready for action!
