My 940 saga... 900 1995

Ok, this car is consuming me!!!! :)
Anyway, thanks for all the previous suggestions, however, I need some more.
My husband & I have changed the spark plugs, fuel filter, timing belt and we have checked the catalytic converter, MAF sensor. We used the DTC to get fault codes and what we got from that was on A2 we got 1-3-3 and on A6 we got 2-1-4. The symptoms for faults on A2 do not coincide with the problems I am having. The A6 symptoms for the RPM sensor sound more like my troubles. Where the heck is the RPM sensor and what does it do? (aside from the obvious sounding, monitoring the rotations per minute).
When we checked the MAF sensor, my husband said the car ran BETTER with it connected. So, go figure.
I also got some fault codes in the "B" section of the DTC, I just don't have the codes we got with me at work. What is the "B" area diagnostic for?
Thanks for the help!!
-Christee
