Ski racks for 1984 wagon with factory rack? 200

I have a 1984 235 Wagon with the factory luggage rack mounted on the roof. When I went to see if either yakima or thule had a ski rack that fit this factory system they said I needed to purchase a new Yakima or Thule rack system to mount the ski rack upon. Obviously this does not seem like it is necessary. I am wondering if anyone out there has mounted a ski rack to their volvo wagon and how much modification it took. Let me KNow. Thank you.
