Battery cable replacement? 700 1988

Howdy. This is my first post here, but I have been stusying this board for quite awhile and have learneed a lot. Thanks! I have searched the board for an answer to my question, but I am stumped.

My 744 Ti needs its battery cables replaced. It looks like the wire between the positive battery terminal and the starter terminal is 4 gauge, or the metric equivalent. Is it ok to use a 6 gauge wire in its place, or should I go to the trouble to make it a 4 gauge wire. I have 6 gauge on hand, which is why I ask.
