The problems are built-in in every car.
The designers have the task to design every part
for a limited lifetime for 3 resons:
1.) You have to buy spareparts for $$$$
2.) A indestructible car would cost millions.
3.) The average lifetime expectancy is app. 8 years.
After that you have to see it from the point of shareholder value.
Buy a new car every 8 years so that the shareholders get their share!
and the company stays in business.
You want a cheap car?
Every car is cheap when you buy the parts at the junkyard.
You ask about mileage?
Better ask about the previous owner.
If you buy from a careless PO - you end up bankrupt in the mental hospital
even after a few thousend miles on the odo.
On the other side there are owners who love their baby and their
cars with 300k are better than others with 50k.
All the plastics parts in the 700 are trash.
These designers should have their 401k cut/broken-off too.
my .00002 cents
I'd rather go surfing
