Oil pressure light 200 1980

Yes, before you convict the motor you should check a few things. The oil pressure
switch itself can go bad and start leaking oil. The plastic cracks. Also the
wiring in your car may be original and this could be grounding out against the
engine block causing the flickering. The switch is located just behind the alternator and the wiring runs under the crank pulley. If you use very thin oil
the oil light may flicker occasionally.
