Bad Oil Leak

Suggestions:
1. Take the car to a self-serve car wash. Remove the splash pan. Spray Simple Green all over the engine up to the valve cover (avoid distributor). Then wash everything off with the spray wand, first set to "degrease" or "tire cleaner" and then with the rinse. Drive around to dry it off.
2. NAPA has fluorescent dye bottles for oil leaks. Place in the oil, then drive it around for an hour or so and take the car to a shop with a fluorescent black light detector. Walmart sells a little GE fluorescent black light that may help you find the leak on your own, but using it is hard since you have to be in a pitch-black garage. The lamp is dim.
