CDI breakerless ignition 140-160 1973

I am strongly in favor of electronic ignition, but as a stopgap,
frequent requirement for point adjustment is normally because of a
worn distributor. I remember one very long night stopping in all the
darkest places between Asheville and New Bern (NC) to adjust points in
my 164, finding a graphite-like dust in there every time I popped the
cap. Turned out the advance weights had cut halfway through the cast
iron distributor case. That was at about 100,000 miles.
