'93 960 Wagon Rotors - 229,000 miles 900 1993

I am a new to owning a Volvo and am wondering if there is any special information needed in regards to replacing rotors that are worn down. I am now hearing a grinding noise sometimes when applying the brakes and even when not. When I first bought the car 4 months ago, I had the car inspected by an auto critic and he suggested replacing the rotors due to wear and tear. I am familiar with doing the work on domestic cars but just need to know if there is anything different that I should look for with the Volvo. Any previous experience knowledge would be most helpful. By the way, I just wanted to announce that I am sold on Volvos and will probably never go back to any U.S. domestics. Thanks ahead of time!
