auxillary shaft bearing fit 200 1980

I have an engine from a 1980 volvo 242. The engine had needed to be reuilt, and I ordered bearings for the auxillay shaft - part numbers 463360-8 for one bearing, and part number 463361-6 for the other two bearings. There is no way this shaft is doing to fit. I there is at least .005 inch interference fit on auxillary shaft bearing journal number 3 and number 2 bearing. The only way I see to fit this is to replace the bearings again-- i checked and i am being told that i have the correct bearings, -- or to hone this out so that the shaft has proper bearing clearnace. Have any of you here seen this problem? I tried several searches in archives but, either i dont know what i am doing, or there is nothing listed about this sort of problem?
