Well, worst case is you take the trans out of the car and fix it on the floor, where you have plenty of room.

On the other hand, a pupe wrench might work as well as filing a few flats on the nub. Another suggestion might be to remove the 4th gear switch on the top of the case, it's used for the OD interlock. Put the oil in through that hole and replace the switch.

I wanted to change my oil and I found the repair shop had tightened it so tight I had to hang on the adjustable wrench. I thought it was going to break.
