Weird power problem 200 1983

I have had the engine cut off at weird times the last two days. Yesterday, after driving about 45 miles from Philadelphia to Newark, Del., the car stalled out at idle. It had a very difficult time starting until I went under the hood and tightened the connections with the cable between the distributor and the coil.

This afternoon, upon driving to Frederick about 30 minutes, the car cut out at high speed. The connection between the distributor and the coil were tight, but I noted a spark plug in Cylinder 1 (B21 engine) was a little loose. Three or four rotations set the plug into the hole correctly.

The car started up and ran, but ran haltingly. It almost threatened to cut out again, but I hammered the accelerator and the car started going again.

My thoughts are that it could be the injectors. Any reason why it may not be?

Regards,
Al
