Possible head gasket leak? 900 1993

My 945 has 93k miles. I bought it 3 months ago. It has been very well maintained per the records. However today I see some evidence of antifreeze between the head & block between the 1&2 cyls. The coolant level appears normal & the syn oil that has 3k appears clean. Is external head gasket leakage a freqent promblem for this milage? I don't have the equipment to check it myself per the FAQ. Is there something else I can do or should I get it in pronto. I love this car & am pretty anal about it. I would be affraid to think what it cost to have the gasket replaced. Thanks a mint. p.s. It is a nonturbo
