Need dashboard guru S90-V90 1989

Help-I've tried 3 different fuel gauges - nothing works.The wiring out of the tank seems to look O.K. How do I test the Board to see if it's getting power to the gauge? Can I feed it from somewhere else? Also,is there anyway to hook up a light to the small clock after my tach/big clock change. Everything else is working fine and the car is a PLEASURE to make my 2x weeklytrip from Upstate NY to N.H.---But I NEED a fuel gauge! thanks........
