Water pump 700 1990

Paul:

Anybody with a basic amount of automotive knowledge and skill can replace the water pump on a Volvo b230f motor. If you decide to tackle the job yourself read the information regarding water pumps in the 700/900 FAQ. The tricky part, at least for me, was holding the pump up against the pressure of the cylinder head to water pump o-ring to get the water pump bolts started. The rest of the job was increadibly easy and once I figured out an easy way to lift the pump up, this segment of the replacement job was straight forward as well.

Give it a try. Plan on at least a 2-3 hour job the first time you try this. Also, I would recommend getting a spare gasket kit just in case something goes wrong the first time.

Hope this helps and good luck.
