Aftermarket Exhaust Systems? 200

Can anyone offer any advise on replacing an exhaust system on an '86 245? The current exhaust system is original an in generally good shape, except where the weld has separated just in front of the bend before the rear muffler (Just back of the right rear wheel) My independent Volvo mechanic (Who I happen to believe has to be the most trustworthy and honest mechanic in the state) says that the system is pretty much a one peice deal from the cat back so the whole thing needs replacement. I'm asssuming that the original is made of stainless steel since it is 16 years old and has no significant visible rust, like previous cars I've owned. Those cars would get new exhaust systems about every 4 years. I'm looking at buying a system through IPD, and installing it myself (because I've had so much experience with my previous cars!) But these systems cost less than $200 and make no mention of the materials from which it is constructed. My guess is they are not stainless. They do offer systems for newer Volvos that are stainless and run $6-800. Does anyone have any experience using IPD exhaust systems on their 240? Will it last me another 16 years? 10 years? 5 Years?
