Engine wiring harness prices 700 1987

The engine wiring harness on my 1987 740 GLE is crumbling and resulting in the classic jittery guage symptoms. I've been calling around the country for resonably priced replacement harnesses and am getting fairly frustrated. I called the places listed in the faq and the prices are now substantially higher than was previously documented. Anyone know of a dealer who will sell it for under $300? What's the secret to getting a deal on one of these? Thanks!
