flushing and clean out of brake system 140-160

Well, I went to the paint stores today and all they sell is Methyl Hydrate. I do not know if this is the same product or not. The Volvo manual cautions that Methylated spirit is the only denatured alcohol to use and warns of disasterous results if you use the wrong product.I am replacing some components and planning on makeing use of some parts that had been used with dot3 and had not been dis assembled. Thanks for your input.
