Turbo pressure low, running rich and a strange hiss 900

Just FYI.

I had all of the above symptoms and took my 2.3 FT along to the local shop. They couldn't find the problem. I took an old stethascope and ran over the whole system. Turned out it was the short piece of pipe between the intercooler and the big metal pipe that runs off to the inlet manifold. The oil had caused the rubber and canvas to de-laminate. I went to the junk-yard to get another, but that was also de-laminating, so stumped up for a new part. (Not like me at all!) But it looks like it could be a weakness in older 2.3 turbos.
