Brake lights....PART II (we're almost there!!!!!) 200

Okay, my fellow brick owners. Here's what happened today.

I took the advice of some of you and replaced the rear brake lamp bulbs. Not only did this fix the left brake light, it also made sure that the center-high mounted brake lamp came on ONLY when the brakes were hit...and not when the headlamps were turned on.

HOWEVER....

I also changed the right side brake lamp bulb. Now, the burned-out bulb icon comes on not only when I hit the brake, but also when the headlamps are turned on. I jiggled with the socket, and the tail lamp came back on, but the brake lamp did not want to go on. I jiggled with it AGAIN, and now, niether the tail lamp nor the brake lamp on the right side will come on. Yes, I used two new bulbs on that socket.

Here's my question...should I try another bulb, or is it the socket itself? I'm wondering if I have the socket screwed in incorrectly, or if I put the bulb in wrong. Any idea how much it should be to replace the socket, if that's the case? And before anyone suggests.....no corrosion..anywhere.

Any ideas, friends?

Thanks!

Steve

PS:: Thanks for all of your help!!
