Car sorta whirring/ringing at 110km/h.....in 5th 700 1988

If you hear it in fourth gear, you can write it off to something other than the typical M47 whirring and howling. The 4th gear indicates it's something likely independent of the transmission, eithr clutch, driveline, rear axle, or carrier bearing. If you don't/can't hear it in fourth gear, but hear it in 5th and perhaps other gears, then it's more likely the typical M47 noise. Since the 5th gear is kind of an afterthought on the M47, it can be an independent noise coming right from that assembly. See if it continues or if it was perhaps an external noise.
