No rear anti-sway bar!!! Why is this? 900 1992

As recently discovered by a chassis code on the engine plate, my 1992 960 has no anti-sway bar on the rear. This has now been confirmed and a new set of front and rear from IPD are on their way.

While I understand this is purely an academic exercise, I am very curious to know why a rear bar would not have been mounted on this car. My understanding is that this should have been standard equipment. Is this simply a matter of ...'oops, we're all out of these bars, so we'll just send these vehicles on the line on without them..." The car is also a late model year production, wo I wouldn't think this was an early add-on.

Any '92 960 owners out there that cn confirm the presence of a rear bar on their car?

I certainly hope the new bar will fit on this car, given it's made specifically for the 92-94 965s.
