Which of these versions of an open Diff is correct?

In my '87 240 w/open diff, I can dump the clutch and spray gravel with both rear tires. Traction goes to both. With the right rear on pavement and the left rear in my gravel driveway, I was able to spin the left rear. Simply put, the person who told you that the left rear does nothing is wrong.

I thought my car might have had a limited slip differential after I noticed the marks on the driveway on both sides. Eventually I raised the rear of the car, spun one wheel, and the other side spun the opposite direction. On a LSD rear, the opposite wheel will spin the same direction.
