This specific complaint is documented by GM and Texaco and results from low coolant levels. If the coolant level drops, the air contact causes precipitates to form on the surface of the coolant that gum up radiator pressure caps. The cure is to maintain the coolant level in the recovery tank. This is totally unrelated to corrosion protection.
