charging woes 120-130

hi all,
Thanks for the good advice about starting. Staying off the gas and using the choke seems to be the trick.

I 'm having a glowing amp light ( still generator equip. It doesn't glow when nothing is on, but when the fan is on for instance, it glows. I have had a couple of dead battery jump-starts from this ( battery is new by the way).

I read the fuse block article in intellab.com. Mine looks pretty good. As a matter of fact the original cardboard fuse label is intact inside the block.

What voltage should one read across a battery on an Amazon while the motor is running? I know GM alts are around 15.5 v for instance.

I saw the rebuilding article, but is anyone against just putting an aftermarket fuse block in? There are several available even with the new style plastic fuses.

regards,
Phred
