1971 142E 140-160

The colors were limited, but not just to mustard. I have the original promotional brochure, and the colors shown include a metalic copper and red. Mine is red and it is original. The color code is 46. The rally dash was a dealer option, as I think was the funny dash mounted tach. This brochure lists vinyl upolstery as standard equipment, but every one I ever saw had original leather. Perhaps, that was a change applied after the brochure was printed. It does mention that "the factory reserves the right to make changes at any time without notice in prices, colors, materials, equpment...

Road and Track magazine had an article describing the model (March 1971). I have a copy, and it includes the following,

"It is a nice package. Besides the aforementioned items (engine etc.), the list includes 165SR-15 Pirelli tires, leather seats, electric rear window defroster, tinted glass, inertia reel seat belts, and carpeting." ..."Our usual gripes about not having enough instruments, especially a tachometer, apply here."

The price or the car as listed in the article is $3895 (list on East Coast), $3940 (list on West Coast).
