Swapping speedo and fuel gauge from 940 into 760 combined instrument 700

I have transplanted a lot of a '94 945Ti into an '84 765Ti. It runs well, which is good. But the 940's speedo and fuel gauge which are now in the 760 don't read correctly because the 760's signals are different. Does anybody know whether I can swap the speedometer and fuel gauge units out of the 760's combined instrument and into the 940's combined instrument?

The 945's fuel level sender won't fit into the 764's tank.
I've got a possible fallback solution for the speedo sender signal, but at this point swapping the speedo between the combined instruments seems simpler.

Thanks for the help.
