steering rack boots installation- '87 760GLE 700 1987

Hi,

I have an '87 760GLE with 190k miles on it. Last weekend, I noticed that the steering rack boot was broken on the passenger's side and oil has been leaking. I took a close look of the joint inside. It looked OK, no rust, dirt, debris etc. I am considering to change it myself.

How hard is the job?
Should both boots be changed at the same time?
What else that I need to look into before and after the work?

I think it is a Cam type boots (versus ZF type; when ordered the parts from a dealer in TX)

Another unrelated question. The knob to turn the clock on the dahboard is broken. I have found a used clock on a '92 740 from a junkyard here. Is it swrapable?

Thanks.

Joseph
