Complexity of a 940 900 1995

You've got to be kidding!
Honda hasn't made anything simple to work on since the 600.
Take a look under the hood of a 940, you could hold a barn dance in there compared to trying to wedge your body parts under the hood of a Honda.
As far a troubleshooting, almost nobody really understands honda electronics. little simple glitches like door locks getting buggy normally lead to cascading electronic failures.
The Volvos are much easier to figure out and fix, and they are designed to be fixed, not thrown away
