replacing fuel pump in 90 740 700

How similar is that to an 83 240? To get mine out I had to bend the lower float-arm-stop down. That allowed the float to drop downward, close enough to the pump, to come out of the hole. Until I did that the assembly was too big to come out.

One other thing I did in my one and only experience doing this repair was to leave the fuel return line attached to the assembly. That is, it was disconected from the steel line under the body, but the short rubber length was left attached to the tank assembly.
